Elevated Expression of Glycerol-3-Phosphate Phosphatase as a Biomarker of Poor Prognosis and Aggressive Prostate Cancer

چکیده

The limitations of the biomarker prostate-specific antigen (PSA) necessitate pursuit biomarkers capable better identifying high-risk prostate cancer (PC) patients in order to improve their therapeutic management and outcomes. Aggressive tumors characteristically exhibit high rates glycolysis lipogenesis. Glycerol 3-phosphate phosphatase (G3PP), also known as phosphoglycolate (PGP), is a recently identified mammalian enzyme, shown play role regulation glucose metabolism, lipogenesis, lipolysis, cellular nutrient-excess detoxification. We hypothesized that G3PP may relieve metabolic stress cells assessed association its expression with PC patient prognosis. Using immunohistochemical staining, we epithelial two different radical prostatectomy (RP) cohorts total 1797 patients, for whom information on biochemical recurrence (BCR), metastasis, mortality was available. between expression, bone cancer-specific survival established using log-rank multivariable Cox regression analyses. High associated an increased risk BCR, PC-specific mortality. Multivariate analysis revealed independent predictor BCR metastasis development. from eligible prostatectomies new prognostic poor prognosis aggressive recurrence,

Tgf-β1 expression as a biomarker of poor prognosis in prostate cancer

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the correlation between transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β1) expression and prognosis in prostate cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS TGF-β1 expression levels were analyzed using the quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction to amplify RNA that had been isolated from fresh-frozen malignant and benign tissue specimens collected from 89 patients who had clinically loca...

EZH2 overexpression as a biomarker of poor prognosis in prostate cancer

A number of studies have investigated the prognostic role of enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) expression for patients with prostate cancer (PCa), however, the results were controversial. The current study was aimed to comprehensively explore the association between EZH2 and clinical outcomes of PCa by using meta-analysis. The electronic databases of Pubmed, Embase and Web of Science were sear...

Poor Prognosis of Phosphatase of Regenerating Liver 3 Expression in Gastric Cancer: A Meta-Analysis

BACKGROUND Overexpression of phosphatase of regenerating liver 3 (PRL-3) has been implicated in gastric cancer (GC) metastasis. Epidemiological studies have evaluated the relationship between PRL-3 expression and prognosis in GC. However, results still remains controversial. In this study, a meta-analysis was performed to evaluate the association of PRL-3 expression with overall survival (OS) a...

Elevated expression of valosin-containing protein (p97) is associated with poor prognosis of prostate cancer.

PURPOSE Valosin-containing protein (VCP) has been shown to be associated with metastasis and prognosis in human cancers. In the present study, the correlation of VCP with recurrence and prognosis in patients with prostate cancer (PCA) receiving conservative therapy was examined. EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN VCP expression was analyzed immunohistochemically in 136 patients ranging from 46 to 92 years (...
